Public Hanging?

I think its interesting now that Saddam has been sentenced to a hanging - the EU and other civil rights minded people are weighing in. They didn't seem to mind so much as to what was occuring under Saddam's rule.

Also, it is interesting with this multi-culti, pc and tolerant crowd that we are now not allowed to honor Saddam's culture. Wouldn't a hanging be appropriate in his culture? We have tolerance of other cultures, ethnics groups and religions shoved down our throats everyday. But, now these same people who tell us about the middle-eastern culture -- that we need to respect it -- don't find a hanging fitting. Come on people, stop being hypocrites.

"there [sic] culture"???

Whose culture CrankyRight? Sadam's? Or some sort of ethereal 'culture of the enemy' cranks like you live to imagine exists?

That's all very nice, you drooling moron, but what does any of the have to do with Sadam? Who, I might add, is a secular non-saudi. Though I'm sure with all the books you read you already knew that. Idiot.

Again, that's all very nice. But such was not the law under Sadam.

I do find it entertaining though when "educated people" like you feel free to lump together whole regions into some monolithic culture.

Please do better, you vacuous moron.

You're not debating. Or, if you are, you're doing so rather poorly. But keep trying...we're all in this together.

Perhaps you misunderstood my use of the word monolithic...it's a big word, I'll be more careful from now on. What I meant to allude to was your poorly concieved use of the idea 'they' (you actually said "there" but with you there's always an amount on interpretation involved.)

You talk of their culture as being Islamic and Arab, while in truth Iraq is not either of these things in any meaningful sense of the words, at least not for the last several decades.

Perhaps you meant some other 'they'...or are you really just dumb as a sack of hammers?

My money's on the second.

Not sure why that entry got cut off. The entry should be "10882/" instead of 108.
