You Go Joe!!

According to reports from Yahoo! News, Senator Joe Lieberman will be able to fund his re-election bid for his Senate seat come November. Lieberman will be able to rely heavily upon those contributors who helped him raise money in 2003-2004, but most importantly, since deciding to run “Independent” he is gaining support from Connecticut Republicans. From the article, many Republicans do not feel the candidates for the Republican Party are as strong as Lieberman and they are willing to cast their vote for “Good Ole Joe”!

Looking at Ned Lamont, who seems to be very extreme in his views, could it be advantageous for Lamont to win come November? Look at how it would favor the GOP, having Lamont in the Senate during the 2008 presidential campaign so that Republicans could say to voters, “Look at what we’re running against.”

If Lamont wins it is because of the war in Iraq.

I do not honestly see Lamont winning...think about it-

Lieberman received 48% to Lamont's 52% for the Democrat Primary. Add the Republican voters dissatisfied with the Republican candidates and suddenly Lieberman is propelled above Lamont.

Going Independent will help Lieberman more than the Democrats realize.

I find it amazing how the Democrats completely turned their back on Lieberman. You would think he would have some backing, but this just goes to show how corrupt and evil the Democrat Party is.

Though I look back when I was kid (1970's) and I wonder what happened to the Democrat Party, it is not the same Party today as it was in yesteryear.

Please explain why you feel Lieberman's 48% of the democratic nomination will carry through to the election.

I do not see many people who voted for Lieberman switching their vote over to Lamont. Lieberman has taken the time to build up his reputation, besides this is not the first time he's had to be the "go at it alone" candidate.

Remember, the Democrats turned their back before when he was one of the first to call out William Jefferson Clinton...sorry I have a hard time using the word President in front of Clinton's name.

So, this is not unfamilar waters that he is now treading in, so he has experience in dealing with something like this.

He is going to focus upon maintaining those voters, while remaining firm on his stance on Iraq, thus gaining votes from the Republican voters who become nauseated at the thought of how pathetic the Republican candidates truly are.

I'm not saying it will be a landslide come November, but Lamont will not be able to buy this election. <---Meaning all the money in the world will not help him.

How does it look to Democrats that 2 days after Lamont won, a terrorist plot was stopped? Do they really want Lamont?

Lieberman will win easy. It has been established that he has 48% of the Dem. vote. Now add in the independent, libertarian, & Republican votes (any smart R will vote Lieberman in Nov., it's not like their candidate has a snowball's chance in he--, I mean Connecticut.

Point well taken Angel, and it sounds easy enough to understand...yet Liberals cannot seem to grasp it.

By the way, Lamont recently apologized to the city of Waterbury for the remarks made by his campaign manager regarding the city as a site ""where the forces of slime meet the forces of evil."

Seems like a nice, intelligent way for the committee to elect Lamont to gain more and more votes over Lieberman. Official Bonehead Play of the Week.
